Memorial Service for Jake Coblentz

In April, a dear member of our fellowship passed away. Since many of us were unable to attend the funeral in Phoenix, we were blessed to have a special service remembering his life this week. Along with the morning’s sermon (which you can find here), there was sharing from friends and family.

Christina – Jake’s daughter – along with her husband, John, shared from the last days with Jake. Right click this link and save file, or listen below:

At the close of this sharing, we shared a video from the funeral. It features a song written and sung by Jake’s grandchildren. Watch below:

LaMar Troyer shared an afternoon message on God’s design for funerals, along with some practical counsel on walking well with each other in times of grief. Right click this link and save file, or listen below:

Many shared testimonies throughout the morning and afternoon services. Here are a couple memories from friends. Right click this link and save file, or listen below:

Darkness and light. These two opposites appear throughout Scripture, and Larry Graber provides some sobering warnings for those who choose darkness rather than light. Allowing the light to reveal who we are is life-changing, and he issues a clear call for us to open ourselves to his convicting and comforting light.

Here’s the PowerPoint from Larry’s message:
